WHAT IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is a voluntary and self-determinative method of resolving disputes.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The people in dispute sit down with neutral mediators to discuss their differences. The mediators help the parties talk about the problems they are having and help them come up with ways to resolve them on their own. Mediators do not resolve the problem, nor do they force any resolution. Mediation is only a vehicle to help people in conflict resolve issues with assistance. Any resolution is voluntary and made at the agreement of all concerned.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Generally, those involved in a dispute should plan on meeting with the mediators one time prior to mediation and then plan on attending the mediation for one-half of a day.

WHAT KIND OF DISPUTES CAN BE RESOLVED?
Any disputes where people are in conflict and do not want to be can be mediated as long as those involved are willing to participate.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE REACH AN AGREEMENT?
The mediators will assist the participants in drawing up a memorandum of understanding so all participants have a clear idea of what was agreed upon.

IS THIS A LEGAL DOCUMENT?
No, the parties can take this document to their legal counsel for drafting into a legal document if they choose. Legal counsel can attend mediation sessions if all parties so desire.

HOW MUCH DOES MEDIATION COST?
Mediation is based upon an hourly fee structure that will be discussed at the time of the pre-meeting and paid prior to mediation.
